This summer, Big Bear Lake just turned up the volume on fun. Picture this: a massive inflatable playground floating in the middle of the lake, just off Pine Knot Marina. It’s slippery, bouncy, mildly chaotic, and totally amazing. Basically, it’s like starring in your own episode of Wipeout—minus the cameras and bruised ego.
Operated by Big Bear Watersports School Inc., this brand-new floating waterpark is 40 by 60 feet of pure adventure. It’s a lake-lover’s dream with slides, jumps, climbs, and wipeouts waiting around every corner.
Owner Brian Boyd sums it up best: “You will get wet, you will swim, you will have fun.”
The real star of the show? Mt. Hood—an inflatable platform towering more than 12 feet high, daring you to take the plunge. Feeling brave? Risky Business is a slick obstacle with whoop-de-doos that pretty much guarantee a laugh (and a splash). Then there’s High Rise, a five-foot-tall, wobbly tightrope of a path only 18 inches wide.
Want more thrills? Try leaping from the Dragon’s Tail, or channel your inner mermaid on Wave Rider. Other sections like Bypass, Neptune Steps, and The Skip keep the action rolling nonstop.
Safety first though: The entire structure is anchored by 31 one-ton anchors, and the water is a perfect 12 to 14 feet deep—ideal for jumping in but not head-diving. Certified staff are always on hand (both on the park and onshore), and everyone’s strapped into U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets.
Sessions are run daily at the top of every hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and each one lasts a full 45 minutes of splashy fun. Show up 30 minutes early to check in and gear up. Pro tip: Book in advance. Each session holds just 40 people, and it fills up fast.
Tickets are $19.95 per person and kids must be at least 8 to participate on their own. Kids ages 4 to 7 can join the fun too—but only with a parent.
If you’re looking for a fresh way to cool off, get a workout, and laugh until your abs hurt, the floating waterpark at Pine Knot Marina is it.
Open through September 1, 2025, it’s Big Bear’s best excuse yet to dive headfirst into summer (just not literally).
You can find it just steps from Big Bear Village at 439 Pine Knot Ave.
