Grammy-winning artists Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll and Lukas Nelson took the stage at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s All for the Hall Los Angeles benefit, presented by the Willard & Pat Walker Charitable Foundation. The benefit, which was hosted by Wilson, featured a “guitar pull” performance — a Nashville tradition where artists take turns onstage performing while their fellow artists listen or add accompaniment. Grammy award-winner John Mayer made a cameo appearance, playing “Phone, Keys, Wallet” with Wilson — the first time they’ve performed the song together live. The event took place at The Novo in the L.A. Live complex.
Proceeds from the evening support the museum’s many educational offerings, including its flagship Words & Music® program, which promotes language arts and music by pairing professional songwriters with school classes to create original songs. The event also included a performance by six high school students from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles of their song “I’ll Overcome,” which they wrote during a Words & Music program with their class, with support from award-winning songwriter Phil Barton and Songwriters Hall of Fame member Liz Rose.
