Daytime Beauty Awards to honor Dr. Drew Taylor

The 8th Annual Daytime Beauty Awards (DBA) proudly announces Dr. Drew Taylor as the recipient of The Innovation Award for Acorn Biolabs.

The Daytime Beauty Awards will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at The Grand Venue in Los Angeles. The award ceremony luncheon celebrates the science behind beauty, health, and wellness by recognizing excellence in medicine, health and fitness, aesthetics, skincare, color and styling, CBD and cannabis, beauty innovation, and more.

Dr. Drew Taylor is the founder and CEO of Acorn Biolabs and a pioneer in regenerative medicine. A former professional minor league pitcher for both the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies, Taylor went on to earn a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto after studying Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan. His work bridges science, innovation and longevity, with a focus on unlocking the regenerative potential of a person’s own cells.

“The next major currency in healthcare will be your own cells,” says Taylor.

Founded in 2017, Acorn Biolabs is a regenerative medicine company pioneering the collection, preservation and use of stem cells derived from hair follicles. Through its proprietary technology, Acorn produces YOU™, the first fully autologous secretome powered by a patient’s own stem cells, making personalized regenerative applications for skin and hair possible today while preserving cellular resources that may support future medical therapies. Its research spans areas including skin and hair health, cartilage repair, organoid development and next-generation cell therapies.

Past Innovation Award honorees include former NASA scientist & Theradome founder Tamim Hamid, Firmenich, RobotLab Inc. and more.

Accomplished actress, businesswoman, philanthropist, and devoted animal advocate Denise Richards will serve as the 2026 Daytime Beauty Awards Ambassador.

Over the years, the Daytime Beauty Awards have honored notable figures including Cindy Crawford, Gabrielle Union, Christie Brinkley, Tommy Chong, and Holly Robinson Peete. Presenters have included Jennifer Lopez, Jay Leno, Melissa McCarthy, Tina Knowles, and Sia, all joining the DBAs in celebrating the innovators and visionaries behind beauty and wellness.

Each year, the Daytime Beauty Awards donates a portion of its proceeds to an animal-focused nonprofit organization. This year’s event will benefit the Los Angeles Mounted Police Foundation, supporting one of the last Mounted Platoons in the nation and its equine officers. The Foundation supports outreach initiatives, including programs serving veterans and the Mini Mounties youth program. Dedicated to public safety, community engagement, and the care of their equine partners, the Mounted Platoon exemplifies the extraordinary bond between humans and animals.
