With HARD Summer set to take over Los Angeles once again, the only thing more intense than the heat is the lineup.
Year after year, HARD Summer has carved out its place as one of the most anticipated stops on the festival circuit, bringing together heavy hitters, rising talent, and genre blending acts that keep the crowd moving from start to finish. This year is no exception, with a lineup that spans house, techno, hip hop, and electronic, offering something for every kind of festival goer.
With that in mind, there are a few sets I already know will be non negotiable.
CQUESTT is one I am especially locked in on, bringing a fresh, forward leaning sound that fits right into this lineup. DJ Warning is another must, consistently delivering bass driven sets that hit hard without losing their edge. Jon Casey brings the kind of high energy presence that turns a set into a full crowd moment. And then there is Zack Fox, who leans into unpredictability, blending humor, personality, and music into something you experience as much as you hear.

Right behind them are a few more names I will be keeping close on my schedule. Quest brings a groove driven sound that is easy to get lost in, DJ Snake remains a draw for his ability to take over a stage, and Shygirl adds a bold, high energy edge that rounds out the experience.
Beyond the music, HARD Summer is about the full experience. Expect a range of activations, photo opportunities, and interactive moments across the festival grounds. One standout is the trading station, where attendees can “leave one, take one” and add to their collection of festival memorabilia.
For those tapped into the creative side of festival culture, the kandi station is a must visit. It is a space to connect, trade, and create something personal to take home. I already know I will be spending time there adding to my own growing collection. Of course, the food options and everything else happening across the grounds only add to the experience.
When attending a festival like HARD Summer, especially outdoors, preparation can make or break your day.
A hydro pack is essential for staying hydrated without missing moments in the crowd. You can find them online or locally at Rave Wonderland in DTLA, which carries everything from outfits and kandi to hydration gear. A fan is another must, whether battery operated or manual, and something you will be glad to have once the heat sets in.

Ear plugs are just as important. With the bass coming through the speakers all day, protecting your hearing is key. Insomniac partners with EarGasm, and you can stop by their booth at the festival to grab a pair.
With so much happening across every stage, HARD Summer ultimately comes down to the choices you make, and this August, there is no shortage of the right ones.
