The 2026 Cannes Film Festival has announced the winners of this year’s Un Certain Regard section, which celebrates emerging voices, auteur-driven storytelling and bold cinematic discoveries.
The 2026 selection featured 19 feature films, including six directorial debuts also competing for the Caméra d’Or. This year’s opening film was Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.
The Un Certain Regard Prize was awarded to Everytime, directed by Sandra Wollner.
The Jury Prize went to Elephants in the Fog, directed by Abinash Bikram Shah, which was also recognized as a first feature film.
A Special Jury Prize was presented to Iron Boy, directed by Louis Clichy.
The Best Actor award went to Bradley Fiomona Dembeasset for his performance in Congo Boy, directed by Rafiki Fariala.
The Best Actress award was shared by Marina de Tavira, Daniela Marín Navarro and Mariangel Villegas for their performances in Siempre Soy Tu Animal Materno, directed by Valentina Maurel.
This year’s Un Certain Regard Jury was chaired by French actress Leïla Bekhti. Jury members also included Senegalese producer Angèle Diabang, Lebanese composer Khaled Mouzanar, Italian director Laura Samani and French filmmaker Thomas Cailley.
The Un Certain Regard 2026 selection will return to Paris for special screenings from May 29 through June 2 at UGC Gobelins, MK2 Quai de Seine and L’Arlequin, followed by additional screenings from June 10 through June 16 at Pathé Convention cinema.
