Top Make Up and Hair Artists Celebrated at MUAHS Awards

The artistry behind Hollywood’s most unforgettable transformations took center stage in Los Angeles as the Make Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild, IATSE Local 706, celebrated the 13th Annual MUAHS Awards. Presented by L Oréal Groupe and Giovanni Eco Chic Beauty, the ceremony unfolded before a sold out audience of more than 850 guests at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel on February 14, 2026, with viewers around the world tuning in via livestream.

The MUAHS Awards recognize excellence in make up and hair styling across motion pictures, television, music videos, commercials, and live theater. This year’s top film honors went to One Battle After Another, Sinners, and Frankenstein, each distinguished for elevating storytelling through transformative design. In television, standout winners included The Studio, Palm Royale, Stranger Things Season 5, Saturday Night Live, Dancing with the Stars, and Skeleton Crew.

The evening was hosted by actress and producer Rachael Harris, known for her work in Suits, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and The Hangover. Frankie Grande returned to lead the Live from the Red Carpet preshow and will soon appear on Broadway in Titanique. Guild President Julie Socash presided over the ceremony.

Among the night’s most moving moments was the presentation of the Distinguished Artisan Award to Amy Madigan. A Golden Globe winner and Academy Award nominee, Madigan currently appears as Aunt Gladys in Weapons, a box office success that has grossed more than 269 million dollars worldwide and earned her a second Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

The Vanguard Award honored Emmy nominated make up artist Michael Johnston, whose three decades of work helped define the look of beloved Nickelodeon series including All That, The Amanda Show, Zoey 101, iCarly, Victorious, Drake & Josh, Sam & Cat, Henry Danger, and Danger Force.

Make up legend Greg Nelson received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Make Up. His five decade career includes work on Raging Bull, Batman Returns, Death Becomes Her, and the groundbreaking music video Thriller. The Lifetime Achievement Award for Hair Stylists was presented to Judy Alexander Cory, whose six decade career spans from Clambake starring Elvis Presley to The Matrix, Forrest Gump, and Hook. The award was presented by Academy Award winner Kathy Bates.

Additional presenters included Kerri Kenney-Silver, Madeleine McGraw, Brandon T. Jackson, Affion Crockett, Lisa Lisa, Julia Duffy, John Brotherton, and Kate Linder, among others. A heartfelt In Memoriam tribute was performed by longtime guild member Angie Wells.

From blockbuster features to beloved television series and live stage productions, the 13th Annual MUAHS Awards once again underscored the essential role of make up artists and hair stylists in shaping the visual language of entertainment.
