Singer, Songwriter, Performer Neil Sedaka Dies at Age 86

Neil Sedaka the legendary singer, songwriter, pianist, and author who has sold millions of records worldwide has passed away at the age of 86, according to reports.

His career spanned over six decades with hits like “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” and “Laughter in the Rain”.

Sedaka wrote or co-wrote more than 500 songs, many with lyricists Howard Greenfield and Phil Cody. His songs have been performed by himself and other notable artists, including Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, and the Monkees. 

In family statement:

“Our family is devastated by the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Neil Sedaka. A true rock and roll legend, an inspiration to millions, but most importantly, at least to those of us who were lucky enough to know him, an incredible human being who will be deeply missed.”
