Women In Film To Honor Kristen Wiig

WIF (Women In Film, Los Angeles) announced today that Kristen Wiig, star and executive producer of the Apple TV series “Palm Royale,” will be honored at the 2025 WIF Honors with its inaugural Icon Award on Thursday, November 6, at The Beverly Hilton. The Icon Award honors storytellers whose artistry and unforgettable performances have captured the zeitgeist, defining a generation and shaping the cultural landscape.
Wiig joins a visionary cohort of 2025 WIF Honorees, which includes:
  • The Crystal Award for Advocacy in Film: Tessa Thompson, Nia DaCosta (honored in absentia), Dede Gardner, and Gabrielle Nadig
  • The Crystal Award for Advocacy in TV: Mara Brock Akil, Judy Blume (honored in absentia) and Regina King presented by Karen Pittman
  • The Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award: Jamie Lee Curtis presented to her by Jane Fonda
  • WIF Max Mara Face of the Future® Award: Maude Apatow
“Kristen Wiig is the perfect embodiment of our inaugural Icon Award,” said Kirsten Schaffer, CEO, WIF. “Her singular voice and unforgettable performances have brought endless laughter and raw honesty to audiences everywhere. Whether she is playing Gilly on SNL, or Annie in Bridesmaids or Maxine in Palm Royale, her work has left an indelible mark on American culture.”
Additionally, Karen Pittman will join the program and present her fellow Forever colleagues, Mara Brock Akil and Regina King, with The Crystal Award for Advocacy in TV for their collaboration on the hit Netflix series.
E! News correspondent Francesca Amiker and NPR News Culture Desk correspondent Mandalit del Barco will also join the program as moderators for short conversations with the Hedda and Forever honoreesAmiker will moderate a discussion with Tessa Thompson, Dede Gardner, and Gabrielle Nadig on their work on Hedda. Del Barco will moderate a discussion with Akil and King on their work together on Forever.
This year’s WIF Honors, themed Unity, underscores that our shared commitment to equity, sustainability, and stories that represent the breadth of the human experience can transform culture. The evening will also feature a special appearance by comedian Atsuko Okatsuka.
The 2025 WIF Honors are co-chaired by Victoria Alonso and Tracy McKnight. Alongside Alonso and McKnight, the WIF Honors Committee is comprised of WIF Board of Directors Tara Duncan, Monica Levinson, Andrea Nelson Meigs, Rachel Rusch, and Talitha Watkins. WIF Honors is presented by Max Mara with visionary sponsor e.l.f. Cosmetics. The event is designed and produced by Anchor Street Collective.
