Listen Up: avalon, Sara Bareilles, Billy Idol, Lewis Capaldi and more

New music this week..

Last month, avalon made waves when she dropped her gut-punchingly honest ballad, “sydney,” which found the rising pop artist processing loss in real time.

Now, avalon has released her newest single, “how to lie,” as she continues her mission to remain wholly authentic in her music. “how to lie,” is a soul-stirring reflection on loving deeply and being left unseen.

GRAMMY-winning, Tony and Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter and Epic Records recording artist Sara Bareilles today releases Salt Then Sour Then Sweet,” a powerful, poignant original song featuring Brandi Carlile. The lyrics of the song come from an original poem written by acclaimed poet and activist Andrea Gibson.

Rock legend Billy Idol is joining forces with three-time Academy Award-nominated composer J. Ralph for the new original song “Dying To Live” from the forthcoming documentary film Billy Idol Should Be Dead. The song is out now as it appears in the film’s coda sequence, featuring imagery—both animated and archival—from throughout Idol’s life and storied career.

Renowned pop singers MAX and Andy Grammer join forces on their new single “The Thing I Love”. Co-written by MAX, Jake Torrey (Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth), and Johnny Simpson (One Republic, Jonas Brothers) who also produced, “The Thing I Love” is a tender and uplifting pop anthem celebrating the people who bring out the best in us.

Lewis Capaldi releases new EP Survive and one of his most raw and personal songs to date – the simply heartbreaking “The Day That I Die.”
