Marking its 11th year, Hinterland Music Festival has revealed an all-star lineup for its 2026 edition, set for Thursday, July 30, through Sunday, August 2, in St. Charles, Iowa, just south of Des Moines. Known for bringing both major headline talent and rising breakthrough artists to the Midwest, the festival continues its tradition of curating a wide-reaching bill spanning genres and generations.
The 2026 lineup features KATSEYE, Lorde, Mumford & Sons, Kali Uchis, Jessie Murph, Santigold, MUNA, and dozens more set to perform across the festival’s four days. Hinterland has grown into a destination for music fans nationwide, blending a rural setting with top-tier production and diverse programming.
Presales begin Thursday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m. CT, with general on-sale starting Friday, November 21 at 11:00 a.m. CT. Ticket options include 4-Day General Admission, GA+, VIP, VIP+, as well as tent, car, and RV camping. Camping will be sold by site rather than per person, and payment plans start at $25.
The festival will once again offer its unique “90 Degree Guarantee,” a climate-conscious policy allowing ticket holders to request a refund for any day forecasted to reach 90 degrees or higher. If weather.gov predicts a temperature of 90° or above for July 30, July 31, August 1, or August 2 as of Monday, July 27 at 10 a.m. CT, attendees may submit a return request by 11:00 p.m. that same day. Four-day passes can be partially refunded at one-quarter of the ticket price per impacted day. Only tickets purchased directly through AXS are eligible and the guarantee does not apply to camping, parking, or shuttle passes.

Festival organizers reaffirmed their commitment to climate awareness, noting that the 10 hottest years on record have occurred within the last decade. The initiative reflects Hinterland’s ongoing effort to promote sustainability and acknowledge the environmental realities shaping outdoor events.
Hinterland continues to earn praise from both fans and performers. Last year, Jack Antonoff encouraged other major festivals to “take note,” while Clairo called her performance “one of my favorite crowds ever.” Critics have echoed the enthusiasm, with Pitchfork naming Hinterland “an underrated gem in the Midwest,” the Minnesota Star Tribune highlighting its “Instagram-worthy moments,” and Business Insider citing it as a smaller, affordable alternative with the same star power as larger national festivals.
With its combination of marquee talent, scenic surroundings, and a loyal community, Hinterland remains a defining Midwest summer experience—one that artists and audiences return to year after year.
