Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced that nearly 80 Angelenos have been housed through her Inside Safe program, following the resolution of a long-standing encampment spanning several blocks near the 405 Freeway.
The area, which had persisted for almost a decade, posed ongoing safety and health concerns for both residents and the surrounding community.
Since its launch, Inside Safe has conducted more than 100 operations citywide, moving over 3,000 people indoors from encampments.
According to recent reports, roughly 23% of participants have transitioned to permanent housing, while approximately 800 have returned to homelessness after leaving interim placements.
So, is Inside Safe working?
