The Lumineers’ Jeremiah Fraites To Compose Bruce Springsteen Film

Jeremiah Fraites, co-founder of The Lumineers, has been announced as the composer for the 20th Century Studios film Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival. Known for his innovative approach to music, Fraites blends orchestral strings, bespoke piano work, and experimental sound design to create a score that reflects the emotional depth and storytelling power of Bruce Springsteen’s iconic life and music.

Fraites is a co-founder, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist of the GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum band The Lumineers. In 2025, he expands his artistic voice into the world of film scoring with collaborations alongside acclaimed filmmakers Scott Cooper and Francis Lawrence. His original score for Cooper’s Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere will debut in theaters on October 24, 2025, followed closely by his work on Lionsgate’s adaptation of Stephen King’s The Long Walk, premiering September 12, 2025. These projects mark the beginning of a bold new chapter for Fraites, showcasing his ability to bring narrative instincts and orchestral richness to new audiences.

Since co-founding The Lumineers in 2005 with Wesley Schultz, Fraites has helped shape the band’s globally recognized sound. He co-wrote chart-topping hits including “Ophelia,” “Cleopatra,” and “Stubborn Love,” performing to sold-out stadiums and festivals worldwide. His songwriting has long been defined by emotional depth, stripped-back instrumentation, and lyrical sensitivity, qualities that now carry through his solo albums and orchestral film scores.

In 2021, Fraites released his critically acclaimed solo debut, Piano Piano, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Classical Crossover Albums chart via Dualtone Records in the U.S. and Canada and Mercury KX internationally. Written over the course of a decade and recorded entirely at home in Denver, Colorado, the piano-driven album featured Fraites performing nearly every instrument himself while also composing orchestral arrangements for a 40-piece ensemble. His follow-up, Piano Piano 2 (2024), also debuted at #1, further solidifying his position as an artist whose music transcends genres and formats.

Raised in Ramsey, New Jersey, Fraites was captivated by Beethoven’s sonatas at a young age before teaching himself drums and later returning to piano as his primary compositional voice. His solo work reveals a unique style bridging classical traditions with evocative textures, moving seamlessly between intimate storytelling and expansive cinematic soundscapes. Whether composing for film, writing orchestral pieces, or crafting chart-topping hits, Fraites continues to explore themes of vulnerability and human connection, with his entrance into film scoring already earning wide attention.

From 20th Century Studios, Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album, a raw and haunting record born from a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom. Starring Jeremy Allen White as the Boss, the film follows the young musician on the cusp of superstardom as he struggles to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past. The cast also includes Jeremy Strong as longtime manager Jon Landau, Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan, Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father Doug, Odessa Young as love interest Faye, Gaby Hoffman as his mother Adele, Marc Maron as Chuck Plotkin, and David Krumholtz as Columbia executive Al Teller. Directed and written by Scott Cooper, based on Warren Zanes’ book Deliver Me From Nowhere, the film is produced by Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson, and Scott Stuber, with Tracey Landon, Jon Vein, and Zanes serving as executive producers.

Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere will be released exclusively in theaters on October 24, 2025.
