Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst Premiere Roofman at TIFF

Toronto audiences packed into Roy Thomson Hall on Saturday, September 6, for the Gala World Premiere of Roofman, Derek Cianfrance’s latest film, presented by Paramount Pictures in association with Miramax, FilmNation Entertainment, and Von Waaden Entertainment.

The premiere was a star-studded affair, with cast members Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Alissa Marie Pearson, and Kennedy Maeve Moyer in attendance. Director and co-writer Derek Cianfrance walked the carpet alongside co-writer Kirt Gunn, and producers Jamie Patricof, Lynette Howell Taylor, Alex Orlovsky, and Duncan Montgomery. Executive producer Johnathan Glickman also joined the celebration.

Based on an almost unbelievable true story, Roofman follows Jeffrey Manchester (Tatum), a former Army Ranger and struggling father who becomes infamous for robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting through their roofs. After a daring prison escape, he secretly lives inside a Toys “R” Us for six months, undetected, as he plans his next move. But when he falls for Leigh (Dunst), a divorced mother drawn to his undeniable charm, his carefully constructed double life begins to unravel.

The suspense deepens as Manchester’s past creeps closer, setting off a gripping game of cat and mouse that blurs the line between survival, deception, and love.

The ensemble cast includes Ben Mendelsohn, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias, Jimmy O. Yang, and Peter Dinklage. The screenplay, co-written by Cianfrance and Kirt Gunn, highlights Cianfrance’s signature blend of raw storytelling and emotional intensity.

Produced by Jamie Patricof, Lynette Howell Taylor, Alex Orlovsky, Duncan Montgomery, and Dylan Sellers, the film also counts Tatum, Cianfrance, and a roster of industry heavyweights among its executive producers.

Roofman will open exclusively in theatres on October 10, 2025.
