Molly Shannon Swings Back into Action with Will Ferrell in Netflix’s Golf Comedy

Dust off your visors and polish those putters — Netflix just teed up a comedy dream team. Today, the streamer announced that Molly Shannon will reunite with longtime comedy partner Will Ferrell in the Untitled Will Ferrell Golf Series, a 10-episode comedy that’s ready to drive straight down the fairway of absurdity.

Shannon, best known for Only Murders in the Building, Saturday Night Live, and recently Driver’s Ed, will star as Stacy — and while Netflix is keeping character details close to the vest, if we know anything about Shannon and Ferrell together, we can expect high-volume hilarity, ridiculous accents, and possibly a questionable swing.

This marks Will Ferrell’s first-ever TV comedy series, and he’s going full send: playing a fictional golf legend with all the ego and eccentricity that only he can deliver.

The creative team behind the series is as stacked as a pro-am celebrity lineup. Executive producers include Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Alix Taylor for Gloria Sanchez Productions; Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, and Nena Rodrigue for T-Street (yes, that Rian Johnson of Knives Out fame); and comedy collaborators Chris Henchy, Harper Steele, David Gordon Green, and Andrew Guest.

While it doesn’t have a title yet, this series already promises to be a hole-in-one for fans of surreal sports comedy — and a welcome reunion for fans of Ferrell and Shannon’s iconic chemistry.

Golf clap, anyone?
