Grab your wands and polish those broomsticks — the magic is finally in motion! Production has officially kicked off for the highly anticipated HBO Original Harry Potter television series at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK — the same iconic location where the original films brought the wizarding world to life.
Set to debut in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max (including in new launch markets like Germany, Italy, and the UK), the new series promises a faithful and expanded adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved books, with an all-new cast and top-tier production team ready to conjure a fresh era of Hogwarts adventures.

The Storytelling Force
The series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, with Mark Mylod set to executive produce and direct multiple episodes. HBO is producing the series in partnership with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. Of course, the magic wouldn’t be complete without J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman — all returning as executive producers to help steer the broomstick.
With a new vision, a cast ready to put their own spin on familiar characters, and an A-list production team, the series is shaping up to be a spellbinding chapter for old fans and new.
