Larry David Has A New Sketch Comedy Series And We Can’t Wait

From co-creating the cultural phenomenon Seinfeld to redefining cringe comedy with Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry David has spent decades turning social faux pas into unforgettable television.

Now, he returns to HBO with a new untitled sketch comedy limited series—this time with Higher Ground and a very presidential twist.

The logline? President and Mrs. Obama set out to honor America’s 250th birthday… until Larry David got involved.

Written by David and longtime collaborator Jeff Schaffer (who also directs), the series promises appearances from Curb favorites and some unexpected guest stars.

With executive producers Barack and Michelle Obama on board, the show blends absurdity with history—celebrating the unsung (and probably best forgotten) figures of America’s past.

David sums it up best: “Once Curb ended, I celebrated with a three-day foam party… but when my bees mysteriously vanished, I returned to TV—mourning my hive and hoping to entertain.”
