Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano Face Off Ahead of Historic Trilogy Fight at Madison Square Garden

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano

At The Theater at Madison Square Garden, boxing legends Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano came face to face at the final press conference ahead of their long-awaited trilogy fight, streaming live on Netflix this Friday, July 11. The bout headlines the first-ever all-women’s professional boxing card at the iconic venue, produced by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and Netflix.

Taylor (24-1, 6 KOs), Ireland’s undisputed super lightweight champion, and Serrano (47-3-1, 31 KOs), the unified featherweight world champion from Brooklyn, will settle their rivalry in what MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian called “the greatest trilogy in the history of sports.”

The press conference also featured fighters from the stacked undercard, including co-main event stars Alycia Baumgardner and Spain’s undefeated Jennifer Miranda. Other top names on the card include Savannah Marshall, Shadasia Green, Ellie Scotney, Ramla Ali, Cherneka Johnson, and more—representing a global showcase of elite female talent.

To up the stakes, Bidarian announced a $250,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus, judged by himself, Jake Paul, and boxing icon Laila Ali—who will have the final say in case of a tie.

Verbal Fireworks from the Main Event

Serrano, determined to even the score after back-to-back losses to Taylor, promised a smarter approach: “We’re going to work smarter this time—and we will come out victorious.” Dismissing concerns about a previous injury, she declared, “I’m a warrior. I’ll do it again and over again if I have to.”

Taylor, unfazed, emphasized her 2-0 record over Serrano: “Facts are facts. I plan to stay unbeaten against her and go 3-0 this Friday night.” When asked why she accepted the trilogy, she said, “This is still the biggest fight in women’s boxing, and I’m here for the challenge.”

Undercard Highlights and Fighter Soundbites

Baumgardner called this fight “another step in my career” and vowed to reintroduce “The Bomb” to the world, while Miranda warned, “We’re going to put pressure on her so she doesn’t feel comfortable in the ring.”

Savannah Marshall and Shadasia Green hyped their highly anticipated matchup, with Green expecting “the best Savannah Marshall ever.” Rising stars Ellie Scotney and Ramla Ali reflected on the magnitude of fighting on this groundbreaking card, while others like Yamileth Mercado, Jessica Camara, and Tamm Thibeault promised to steal the show.
