Sabrina Carpenter Unleashes New Era with Single “Manchild” and Album Man’s Best Friend

Sabrina Carpenter is stepping into a bold new chapter.

Today, the two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning global superstar officially announced her highly anticipated seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, arriving August 29. The announcement follows the release of her explosive new single, “Manchild,” which dropped June 5 and has already taken the world by storm.

Co-written by Sabrina alongside her longtime collaborators Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen, “Manchild” skyrocketed to No. 1 on both the Spotify US and Global charts within days of release. Its music video, praised for its sharp wit and visual flair, racked up over 15 million views in its first week, signaling a powerful start to the album’s campaign.

Man’s Best Friend marks the follow-up to Sabrina’s critically acclaimed Short n’ Sweet, released in August 2024. That album dominated the global music scene, becoming one of the year’s biggest debuts and producing three colossal hit singles—“Espresso,” “Please Please Please,” and “Taste”—each earning a spot in Spotify’s Billions Club. The record went on to sell over 10 million copies worldwide.

The Short n’ Sweet era earned Sabrina six GRAMMY® nominations and her first two wins, taking home “Best Pop Vocal Album” and “Best Pop Solo Performance” for “Espresso.” She cemented her arrival as a major force in music with a viral GRAMMYs performance, followed by the release of Short n’ Sweet (Deluxe), which included a star-studded duet with Dolly Parton and the fan-favorite “Busy Woman,” performed live during her sold-out arena tour.

International acclaim followed quickly. Sabrina shattered UK chart records by becoming the first female artist to hold the top three spots simultaneously on the UK Singles Chart—dominated by “Taste,” “Please Please Please,” and “Espresso.” She also claimed the most weeks at No. 1 in a single year by a female artist in the UK with 21 weeks atop the chart, and she became the first international artist to earn the BRITs’ Global Success award.

This fall, Sabrina will embark on the second leg of her sold-out Short n’ Sweet Tour across North America. Kicking off October 23 in Pittsburgh, the tour will hit major cities including New York, Nashville, Toronto, and Los Angeles. She’ll headline five nights at Madison Square Garden and six at L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena, closing out the tour on November 23.

With “Manchild” already signaling a massive new era and Man’s Best Friend on the horizon, Sabrina Carpenter continues to redefine what pop stardom looks—and sounds—like.
