HBO has unveiled the official trailer and key art for Mountainhead, the highly anticipated original film from Succession creator Jesse Armstrong.
Set to premiere Saturday, May 31 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and streamable on Max, Mountainhead marks Armstrong’s return to the screen with a sharp, satirical take on the ultra-wealthy—this time amid a world on the brink.
Written, directed, and executive produced by the seven-time Emmy® winner and Oscar® nominee, Mountainhead brings together a formidable cast led by Steve Carell as Randall, Jason Schwartzman as Souper (Hugo Van Yalk), Cory Michael Smith as Venis, and Ramy Youssef as Jeff.
The film follows a group of billionaire friends who retreat into their exclusive circle as an international crisis looms large. With Armstrong’s signature dark wit and incisive social commentary, Mountainhead promises a biting, timely look at privilege, power, and the delusions of the elite.
The creative team reads like a Succession reunion, featuring executive producers Frank Rich, Lucy Prebble, Jon Brown, Tony Roche, Will Tracy, Mark Mylod, and Jill Footlick—all collaborators on the critically acclaimed HBO series.
With Mountainhead, Armstrong once again turns his lens on the world’s wealthiest—this time not in boardrooms, but in bunkers, navigating ego and entitlement as the world unravels.
Stay tuned for the premiere on HBO and Max on May 31.
