‘Father of the Bride’ Trailer With Andy Garcia Drops 31 Years After Original With Steve Martin

Did we need another remake? This time, Andy Garcia replaces Steve Martin as the paranoid Dad in the remake of “Father of the Bride.” The original was released 31 years ago in 1991.

Who could forget Martin Short’s hilariously eccentric wedding planning character Franck? Or Diane Keaton as the loving mother Nina Banks.

Warner Bros. felt it necessary to introduce a new paranoid “Father of the Bride” to a new generation. Watch the trailer and let us know what you think.

Long-marrieds Billy (Andy Garcia) and Ingrid (Gloria Estefan) are surprised when their eldest daughter Sofia (Adria Arjona) comes home to Miami for a visit. But the surprises just keep coming when she announces a new boyfriend, Adan (Diego Boneta)—who is now her fiancé—and their plans for a quick-turnaround wedding and a new life together in Mexico, where Adan’s family is from.

Streaming June 16th on HBO Max
