Apple Music is celebrating the power, courage, and sisterhood of music’s leading ladies by showcasing their songs and stories. Throughout the month, Apple Music will highlight women who are leaders in their field; breaking records, topping charts, and inspiring others through their work, positive change, and influence within pop culture and beyond.
Kicking off the month, Apple Music will feature over 20 different global ‘Visionary Women’ playlists from international artists and influencers as they highlight their favorite female anthems that inspire them. Apple Music’s collection of ‘Visionary Women’ will include playlists from Amy Lee, Arlo Parks, Cara Delevingne, Cardi B, Carly Pearce, Caroline Shaw, Celeste, Diane Warren, Jazmine Sullivan, Karol G, Kim Ng, Linda May Han Oh, Loretta Lynn, Remi Wolf, Romy, ROSÉ, Saweetie, St. Vincent, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Yola and Zoe Wees. Additionally, Apple Music will spotlight 40 different local artists across the world, highlighting their voices and musical influences within their regions.
Popular Apple Music playlists will receive special guest-takeovers from trailblazing artists. Kicking off on International Women’s Day on March 8. Ariana Grande hand-picks over 100 of her favorite songs from women who break the mold for Who Runs the World, while Chloe Bailey of Chloe x Halle takes the reins of High Maintenance featuring strong women in R&B and Dee Dee Bridgewater guest-edits Singers Delight with jazz from every era. In the dance space, Apple Music will feature DJ mixes by women at the forefront of house and techno—from the hyper-textured soundscapes of Logic1000 to the soulful club cuts of Honey Dijon.
Apple Music will also showcase several original short films. Women Making History centers on agency, power, and sisterhood while featuring some of music’s leading ladies, including Megan Thee Stallion, Katy Perry, Erykah Badu, and Brandi Carlile. A new Behind the Boards series spotlights songwriters and producers behind the scenes and features intimate conversations with Starrah, Teddy Geiger and Lauren D’Elia as they reflect on their experiences honing their craft and give advice to young girls looking to work in the music industry.
Apple Music Radio and Apple Music TV will feature incredible female voices, stories and musicianship for a full 24 hours, back to back, on March 8. Listen to 30+ brand new original shows on Apple Music 1, Hits, and Country, with special International Women’s Day episodes hosted by Issa Rae, Shania Twain, Ciara, Alanis Morissette, Estelle, Cuppy, Ray BLK, and The Shires, as well as featured guests Missy Elliott, Andra Day, Saweetie, Shirley Manson, Rita Ora, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Diane Warren, Starrah, Ali Tamposi, Kacey Jo, and more.
Apple Music TV will feature music videos from Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Karol G, Nicki Minaj, Dua Lipa, as well as emerging artists Tate McRae, Foushée, Zoe Wees, Tones and I, Arlo Parks and Romy.
