For seven legendary James Bond films, actor Sir Roger Moore brought 007 to life. Moore has passed away at the age of 89 years-old.
His children posted a statement via twitter reading: "Thank you Pops for being you, and being so very special to so many people.With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated."
The actor died after battling cancer.
Moore made his film debut in 1945 and appeared on Broadway and in television roles throughout the 1940s and 1950s.
As James Bond, he starred in memorable films including: Live and Let Die (1973) and A View to a Kill (1985).
The Queen of England knighted him in 2003, and he was named a Commander in France's National Order of Arts and Letters in 2008.
