Om Puri with co-star Helen Mirren at "The Hundred-Foot Journey" premiere
Beloved Indian actor Om Puri has passed away at the age of 66 years-old.
According to a family member via reports, Puri suffered a heart attack at his home in Mumbai on Friday.
Star of the British hit "East is East," Puri was a veteran actor in both film and television. He recently co-starred in "The Hundred-Foot Journey" alongside Helen Mirren.
Throughout his career, Puri was known for his roles in Indian, Pakistani, British and Hollywood films. He was awarded an honorary OBE for his contribution to the British film industry in 2004.
Other known projects included "City of Joy," "The Reluctant Fundamentalist," "Ardh Satya," "Sadgati," "Paar "and "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro."
