6.9-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Japan, Tsunami Warning In Effect

After a 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck off Honshu, Japan, a tsunami warning was placed for Japan's Fukushima and Miyagi Prefectures.

The earthquake, which hit on Tuesday morning caused two aftershocks at 5.4 and 4.8 magnitude, according to USGS.

Japanese authorities urged residents of the northeast coastal areas to leave immediately for higher ground.
