The B-52s Hit The Hollywood Bowl For a Fireworks Spectacular

The B-52s Hollywood Bowl

The B-52s will get audiences dancing as they perform their renowned party anthems three nights at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday and Saturday, September 11 & 12, at 8 PM, and Sunday, September 13, at 7:30 PM. This weekend will be filled with fan favorites such as “Rock Lobster” and “Love Shack,” ending each night with the Bowl’s shell lit up with a spectacular display of fireworks.

The Psychedelic Furs kick off each evening with their post-punk melodies and crowd favorites, such as “Pretty in Pink” and “Love My Way.”

Each band will be joined for some of their set by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra led by Principal Conductor Thomas Wilkins.

In 1977, The B-52s played their very first gig at a friend’s house party, having met the year before in Athens, Georgia. They made fast fans with their exaggerated “bouffant” hairdos and their catchy party hits. The band has been performing together for 35 years and has sold over 20 million albums. Their album Cosmic Thing rose to the top of the Billboard Album chart, making it their big commercial hit and securing themselves as international superstars. They are now considered the World’s Greatest Party Band.
