Just in time for the August 14th release of “Straight Outta Compton,” Dr. Dre announced that he will be donating the royalty earnings from his next studio album, “Compton” to assist in funding performing arts and entertainment facility in Compton, California.
Dr. Dre announced the news this week on Apple’s Beats 1 radio show hosted by Zane Lowe.
“I reached out to the Compton mayor’s office, got in touch with the mayor, Aja Brown, and I’ve decided to donate all of my artist royalties from the sale of this album to help fund a new performing arts and entertainment facility for kids in Compton,” Dre said.
“Compton: A Soundtrack By Dre” will officially release on August 7th.
