“Lawrence Of Arabia” Star Omar Sharif Dies At Age 83

Omar SharifBest known for his performance as Sherif Ali in the 1962 classic film “Lawrence of Arabia,” actor Omar Sharif has passed away. Sharif also played the title role in “Doctor Zhivago.”

According to reports, Sharif’s agent confirmed earlier this year that the actor was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Egypt in 1932, Sharif won two Golden Globe Awards and earned one Oscar nomination for his role in “Lawrence of Arabia.”

The David Lean production was Sharif’s first U.S. project.

He began his acting career in 1953 in Egypt.
