As comic book-enthusiasts begin prepping their cosplay-wear for this weekend’s Comicon Convention, they may want to start contemplating some PAWSplay-wear for their pets for the 3rd Annual PAWmicon Convention being held this Wednesday. Helen Woodward Animal Center adoptables are hoping to meet their superheroes with one mission – to help raise awareness for orphan pets.
The PAWmicon Convention begins at 4:00pm at the Stone Company Store in Downtown San Diego, and will include a PAWSplay Contest for Superheroes and their dogs. Those who participate can dress up as a duo, or simply enter their pup. Prizes will be awarded for the top three costumes.
Helen Woodward Animal Center will also have their owncast of characters at the event to meet potential adopters. Attendees are invited to enter opportunity drawings for Comic-themed prizes, dog-friendly gifts and yummy Doggy Beer Bones. 10% of all bar sales will go to the orphan pets at Helen Woodward Animal Center.
