On Friday afternoon, it appeared at if cars along the Cajon Pass were under attack. Flames reached up to the skies as a brush fire swept across the 15 Freeway between State Route 138 and Oak Hill Road in the Cajon Pass.
According to reports, the fire spread over 3,500 acres, shutting down the highway in both directions.
At least four homes were destroyed, along with 20 cars. The LA Times reported that the California Highway Patrol spokesman Steve Carapia said 60 to 70 cars were abandoned on the road, which made it difficult for emergency responders to maneuver.
There were 22 engines, six air tankers, three helicopters, a bulldozer and 1,000 firefighters battling the North Fire.
