The two-time Oscar winning composer who touched all of our hearts with his beautiful “Titanic” film score has died at the age of 61. It was reported that James Horner died Monday in a plane crash near Santa Barbara.
According to officials, Horner was piloting a small aircraft when it crashed into a remote area about 60 miles north of Santa Barbara, officials said.
In 1997, Horner took home an Academy Award for Original Dramatic Score and Original Song (with lyricist Will Jennings) for “My Heart Will Go On,” performed by Celine Dion.
He also worked on “Avatar,” “A Beautiful Mind” and “Star Trek,” among many other memorable films.
