Macy’s Drops Donald Trump’s Menswear Collection

Donald Trump on Macy’s commercial set

The next time you’re shopping at Macy’s for a dress shirt, necktie or cuff links… you won’t have the option of buying the Donald Trump brand. That’s right, yet another major corporation has cut ties with the business mogul. First Univision, then NBC Universal and now Macy’s.

According to reports from CNN, Macy’s ‘has come under intense pressure to end their business relationship with the real estate magnate and businessman after he referred to immigrants from Mexico and other countries “killers and rapists.”

The famous department store released the following statement on Wednesday morning: “We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico. We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation.

In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy’s values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy’s since 2004.”
