The 8th Annual Daytime Beauty Awards (DBA), founded by Michele Elyzabeth, celebrated the best in science behind beauty, health and wellness on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026 at the Grand Venue. The award ceremony luncheon recognizes excellence in medicine, health and fitness, aesthetics, skincare, color and styling, CBD and cannabis, beauty innovation, and more.
Dr. Paul Nassif presented Outstanding Achievement in Medicine to Dr. David Amron, one of the world’s leading pioneers in the treatment of lipedema. Dr. Nassif delivered a heartfelt tribute to his longtime friend and former colleague, reflecting on Dr. Amron’s dedication to advancing care for patients. During his acceptance speech, Dr. Amron turned the spotlight to education, taking the opportunity to teach the audience about lipedema, a frequently misunderstood and under-recognized condition, and the importance of greater awareness and proper diagnosis.
“There are doctors who excel in their field and then there are surgeons like Dr. David Amron who revolutionized their speciality,” said Dr. Nassif.
Dr. Amron is one of the world’s leading pioneers in the treatment of lipedema. Born in Calcutta, India, Dr. Amron’s journey brought his family from London to Los Angeles aboard the historic Queen Mary in the 1960s. After attending UCLA and earning his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he completed advanced dermatology training before dedicating his career to lipedema, a painful and frequently misdiagnosed disease affecting millions of women worldwide. In 1998, he co-founded the Spalding Drive Plastic Surgery & Dermatology Center with Dr. Paul Nassif, later founding The Roxbury Institute in Beverly Hills, which has grown into one of the nation’s leading lipedema treatment centers with additional locations in Tucson and Salt Lake City. Beyond patient care, Dr. Amron established the Lipedema Society of North America, advanced groundbreaking research, helped develop treatment guidelines, and has been a leading advocate for insurance reform. His pioneering work has transformed countless lives while redefining the standard of care for patients living with lipedema.
