The 8th Annual Daytime Beauty Awards (DBA) proudly announces Matt Rez as the recipient of Outstanding Achievement in Color & Styling.
The Daytime Beauty Awards will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at The Grand Venue in Los Angeles. The award ceremony luncheon celebrates the science behind beauty, health, and wellness by recognizing excellence in medicine, health and fitness, aesthetics, skincare, color and styling, CBD and cannabis, beauty innovation, and more.
Matt Rez is a Los Angeles–based celebrity hair colorist known for creating some of the most influential hair color trends in Hollywood. With more than two decades of experience, he has become one of the industry’s most sought-after colorists, working with clients including Hailey Bieber, Angelina Jolie, Adele, Florence Pugh, Kendall Jenner, Dua Lipa, Tate McRae, and many more. His signature work blends artistry with technical precision to create dimensional, natural-looking color while maintaining the health and integrity of the hair.
Born in Iran and raised in the United States, Rez developed an early fascination with the chemistry and artistry behind hair color. After attending beauty school in Portland, Oregon; he moved to Los Angeles to further his training at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica.
Rez is widely recognized for pioneering the “midlight” technique, an innovative coloring method that blends highlights with the natural base to create seamless depth and dimension. His work has appeared across film, television, major advertising campaigns, and international red carpets, and has been featured in publications including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Allure, and InStyle.
Past Color & Styling honorees include Robert Ramos, Tracey Cunningham, Lorri Goddard, Chaz Dean, Ted Gibson & Jason Backe and Denis de Souza.
Accomplished actress, businesswoman, philanthropist, and devoted animal advocate Denise Richards will serve as the 2026 Daytime Beauty Awards Ambassador.
Over the years, the Daytime Beauty Awards have honored notable figures including Cindy Crawford, Gabrielle Union, Christie Brinkley, Tommy Chong, and Holly Robinson Peete. Presenters have included Jennifer Lopez, Jay Leno, Melissa McCarthy, Tina Knowles, and Sia, all joining the DBAs in celebrating the innovators and visionaries behind beauty and wellness.
Each year, the Daytime Beauty Awards donates a portion of its proceeds to an animal-focused nonprofit organization. This year’s event will benefit the Los Angeles Mounted Police Foundation, supporting one of the last Mounted Platoons in the nation and its equine officers. The Foundation supports outreach initiatives, including programs serving veterans and the Mini Mounties youth program. Dedicated to public safety, community engagement, and the care of their equine partners, the Mounted Platoon exemplifies the extraordinary bond between humans and animals.
