The 8th Annual Daytime Beauty Awards (DBA) proudly announces Dr. David Amron as the recipient of Outstanding Achievement in Medicine and Kara Mayer Robinson, MA, LMHC, LPCC as the recipient of Outstanding Achievement in Health.
The Daytime Beauty Awards will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at The Grand Venue in Los Angeles. The award ceremony luncheon celebrates the science behind beauty, health, and wellness by recognizing excellence in medicine, health and fitness, aesthetics, skincare, color and styling, CBD and cannabis, beauty innovation, and more.
Accomplished actress, businesswoman, philanthropist, and devoted animal advocate Denise Richards will serve as the 2026 Daytime Beauty Awards Ambassador. A longtime champion of wellness, self-care, and animal rescue, Richards embodies the mission of the DBAs, which recognizes innovation while giving back to causes that improve the lives of both people and animals. This year’s event will benefit the Los Angeles Mounted Police Foundation, supporting the LAPD Mounted Platoon and its equine officers, whose community outreach includes programs for students and veterans.
Outstanding Achievement in Medicine will be presented to Dr. David Amron, one of the world’s leading pioneers in the treatment of lipedema. Born in Calcutta, India, Dr. Amron’s journey brought his family from London to Los Angeles aboard the historic Queen Mary in the 1960s. After attending UCLA and earning his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he completed advanced dermatology training before dedicating his career to lipedema, a painful and frequently misdiagnosed disease affecting millions of women worldwide. In 1998, he co-founded the Spalding Drive Plastic Surgery & Dermatology Center with Dr. Paul Nassif, later founding The Roxbury Institute in Beverly Hills, which has grown into one of the nation’s leading lipedema treatment centers with additional locations in Tucson and Salt Lake City. Beyond patient care, Dr. Amron established the Lipedema Society of North America, advanced groundbreaking research, helped develop treatment guidelines, and has been a leading advocate for insurance reform. His pioneering work has transformed countless lives while redefining the standard of care for patients living with lipedema.
Outstanding Achievement in Health will be presented to Kara Mayer Robinson, MA, LMHC, LPCC, a licensed therapist, mental health advocate, television and film consultant, and host of the acclaimed podcast Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson. After earning her graduate degree in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University, Mayer Robinson built a successful therapy practice while contributing to leading publications, including The New York Times. Her approach to authentic conversation led to the creation of Really Famous, where she conducts thoughtful, in-depth interviews that reveal the human stories behind public figures. Today, Mayer Robinson continues to combine her expertise as a therapist and interviewer to promote emotional well-being, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, and encourage meaningful dialogue. Through her lifelong commitment to helping others, she has become a respected voice in mental health advocacy.
Over the years, the Daytime Beauty Awards have honored notable figures including Cindy Crawford, Gabrielle Union, Christie Brinkley, Tommy Chong, and Holly Robinson Peete. Presenters have included Jennifer Lopez, Jay Leno, Melissa McCarthy, Tina Knowles, and Sia, all joining the DBAs in celebrating the innovators and visionaries behind beauty and wellness.
Each year, the Daytime Beauty Awards donates a portion of its proceeds to an animal-focused nonprofit organization. The 2026 beneficiary, the Los Angeles Mounted Police Foundation, provides essential funding for the LAPD Mounted Platoon, one of the last remaining full-time mounted units in the United States.
Dedicated to public safety, community engagement, and the care of their equine partners, the Mounted Platoon exemplifies the extraordinary bond between humans and animals. The Foundation also supports outreach initiatives, including programs serving veterans and the Mini Mounties youth program.
