Summer festival season continues this weekend as Day Trip Festival returns to the Queen Mary Waterfront in Long Beach on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28.
Produced by Insomniac, the annual celebration of house, disco and techno music has become one of Southern California’s most anticipated electronic music events, bringing together some of the genre’s biggest names against the iconic backdrop of the historic waterfront.
With a lineup packed with global talent, there is no shortage of must see sets. Among the artists I am most looking forward to catching this year is RuPaul. While many know the Emmy Award winning icon for transforming pop culture and redefining drag entertainment, RuPaul’s deep connection to house music stretches back decades. His DJ set is sure to be one of the festival’s most talked about moments.
Another set high on my list is Rebecca Black. Far removed from the viral fame that first introduced her to audiences, Black has carved out a respected place in dance music circles with energetic DJ performances that have surprised even longtime electronic music fans. Her appearance at Day Trip promises to bring a fresh and unexpected energy to the weekend.
Then there is Gordo, one of my personal favorites. His blend of house, techno and Latin influences has made him one of the most exciting names in electronic music today. In fact, I found myself facing one of the toughest schedule conflicts of the weekend, having to choose between Gordo and Shaun Ross. It was not an easy decision, but Gordo ultimately earned the spot on my must see list.
Also at the top of my schedule is Loco Dice. After missing the opportunity to catch his set at HARD Summer last year, I have been waiting for another chance to see the influential German techno and house artist perform live. Day Trip finally delivers that opportunity, making his set one of my most anticipated performances of the entire festival.
Beyond those personal highlights, Day Trip’s 2026 lineup features an impressive collection of artists including Cloonee, Odd Mob, Green Velvet B2B Josh Baker, Adam Beyer, Lilly Palmer, SIDEPIECE B2B Westend and many more.
With music running throughout the day and into the night, festivalgoers can expect another unforgettable weekend of dancing, waterfront views and nonstop house music energy.
