Unleash your love in June by adopting a pet! LA Animal Services is kicking off June by participating in the second annual California Adopt a Pet Day on Saturday, June 6 joining more than 150 animal shelters across the state in offering fee-waived adoptions. The all day event is sponsored by CalAnimals, the San Francisco SPCA, and the ASPCA, and will offer waived adoption fees for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens at all six LA City shelters.
“LA Animal Services is proud to participate in California Adopt a Pet Day, which helps the wonderful animals in our care find loving homes,” said Gabrielle Amster, General Manager for LA Animal Services. “We hope the waived adoption fees encourage our community to choose to adopt and welcome a new addition to their family.”
To help get as many animals in our shelters get adopted, LA Animal Services will be hosting special events and offering special adoption fees every weekend in June:
- June 6: California Adopt A Pet Day: A statewide adoption event featuring waived adoption fees for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens thanks to the ASPCA
- June 6: Galpin Lincoln Mobile Pet Adoption and Test Drive Fundraiser: Join LA Animal Services and some adoptable dogs and cats at Galpin Lincoln located at 8350 Langdon Blvd., in North Hills, from 10am to 3pm. Test drive a car, and Galpin Lincoln will donate $50 to LA Animal Services for each test drive done on Saturday, up to $7,500 as part of their ‘Embrace for Good’ event. Adoption fees for dogs and cats will be waived, excluding the $20 dog license fee for LA City residents.
- June 7: Waived adoption fees for dogs and cats four (4) month and older sponsored by the Carroll Petrie Foundation and the ASPCA
- June 13-14: Basic Black Adoption Weekend sponsored by the Pet Care Foundation offering reduced adoption fees for canine buddies and feline friends with primarily black fur: dogs, $51 and puppies, $75 (does not include $20 license fee for LA City residents); cats, $12.50 and kittens, $25.
- June 20: LA Chargers Community Tailgate and Pet Adoption Day: The special event will be at the Chesterfield Square/South LA location from 10am to 2pm with waived adoption fees for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens sponsored by the Chargers Impact Fund. Note: All other shelter locations on June 20 will offer waived adoption fees for dogs and cats four (4) months and older thanks to the Carroll Petrie Foundation and the ASPCA.
- June 20-21 and June 27-28: Waived adoption fees for dogs and cats four (4) months and older sponsored by the Carroll Petrie Foundation and the ASPCA
