Emily in Paris begins filming its 6th and final season

Netflix has announced that Emily in Paris will officially conclude with its upcoming sixth season.

Production on the final chapter is now underway in Greece.

Created by Darren Star, the hit comedy-drama first premiered in 2020 and quickly became one of Netflix’s most talked-about global series. The show follows Emily, an ambitious young marketing executive from Chicago, whose unexpected move to Paris leads to new adventures, friendships and romance.

In a statement, Star reflected on the show’s success and its loyal fanbase:

“Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime. As we embark on the final season, I am so grateful to Netflix, Paramount, and, most importantly, the fans who have taken this incredible journey with us. We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have ‘Emily in Paris!’”

Produced by Paramount Television Studios, Darren Star Productions and Jax Media, the series became a worldwide phenomenon across its five seasons. According to Netflix, Seasons 1 through 5 spent a combined 32 weeks on the Global Top 10 list, reached the number one spot in 90 countries and generated more than 250 million views between the first half of 2023 and the second half of 2025.

Beyond streaming success, the series became a major cultural force, influencing fashion trends, memes and tourism. The glamorous portrayal of Paris reportedly contributed to increased tourism interest in France, with French President Emmanuel Macron publicly praising the show for boosting the city’s international appeal.

Star’s overall catalog has also continued to thrive on Netflix. Titles including Sex and the City, Younger and Uncoupled collectively amassed 435 million views from H1 2023 through H2 2025, according to Netflix engagement reports.

Netflix also recently announced Star’s upcoming comedy series, Uncorked, centered on a talented but troubled winemaker returning to Napa Valley for a second chance at love, family legacy and redemption.
