John Summit Conquers His First Marathon With Impressive Finish

Popular DJ and producer John Summit can now check off ‘running a marathon’ from his bucket list. On Sunday, March 8th, the former accountant turned globally renowned DJ conquered ASICS Los Angeles Marathon.

With an impressive finish time of 3:30:12 running in record high temperatures (80’s) from Dodger Stadium to Avenue of the Stars, fans and fellow marathoners were eager to catch the DJ on the course. And catch they did, handing him shots and taking selfies. At one point in the race, John kindly gifted his water bottle to someone.

“I’m a little bit nervous. Not gonna lie. It’s my first marathon but I’m excited,” Summit told LA Marathon’s run host Pamela Price (on @LAMarathon TikTok) just before hitting the start line at 7AM.

Sharing words of inspiration for his followers who may want to run a marathon themselves, John said: “Anything is possible… You can set aside time to run. I live the busiest lifestyle, but I made it work.”

When asking what he listens to when he’s training and running, John admitted that he enjoys “peace and quiet” as a contrast to his music-filled life.

John’s mom Tamara Schuster was by his side cheering and supporting. She shared that her son ran in high school. “Cross-country, track and he’s always had a huge workout method.”

“I admire people who run so much,” she added.

Cheers to John Summit’s next race!

More than 20,000 runners followed elite athletes across the finish line in Century City. The 26.2-mile course wound through the historic neighborhoods and recognizable landmarks of Los Angeles, including Downtown L.A., Echo Park, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Brentwood, before finishing along Santa Monica Boulevard at Avenue of the Stars.

The course featured start-to-finish entertainment, including more than 100 cheer stations led by charity partners and local running clubs.

The ASICS Los Angeles Marathon is set to return on March 7, 2027.
