I LOVE LA Gets Season Two Renewal

HBO is doubling down on comedy.

Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max Content, announced that HBO Original comedies THE CHAIR COMPANY and I LOVE LA have both been renewed for second seasons.

The renewals come as both series continue to post strong audience growth. From creators Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin, THE CHAIR COMPANY is currently HBO’s top freshman comedy in platform history, averaging 3.3 million U.S. cross-platform viewers (L+3) and continuing to climb. Created by and starring Rachel Sennott, I LOVE LA ranks as HBO’s second top freshman comedy, averaging nearly 2 million viewers (L+3).

Amy Gravitt, EVP of HBO Programming and Head of HBO & HBO Max Comedy Series, praised the momentum behind both shows, noting their confident continuation of HBO’s comedy tradition and the network’s enthusiasm to keep working with the creative teams behind them.

Critically, both series have been equally strong performers. THE CHAIR COMPANY holds a perfect 100 score on Rotten Tomatoes, with praise for its absurd and unhinged humor, while I LOVE LA is certified fresh and has been lauded for its sharp writing, comedic precision, and polished production.

THE CHAIR COMPANY stars Tim Robinson as a man whose workplace embarrassment leads him into an unexpected conspiracy, alongside Lake Bell, Sophia Lillis, Will Price, and Joseph Tudisco, with Lou Diamond Phillips in a recurring role. I LOVE LA centers on an ambitious group of friends navigating life and relationships in Los Angeles, starring Rachel Sennott, Jordan Firstman, Josh Hutcherson, Odessa A’zion, and True Whitaker, with an extensive roster of notable guest stars.
