Produced by Michael Lotten (a hitmaking producer/songwriter who’s worked with Bailey Zimmerman, Tucker Wetmore, Dustin Lynch, and more), “Basic” marks a departure from the bittersweet mood of past releases like Just Jayne’s dazzling debut single “This Morning” (a post-breakup reflection written in response to Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” and delivered from the female point-of-view).

This time around, Just Jayne’s Taylor Edwards, Jillian Steele, and Rachel Wiggins joined forces with Lotten and Emma Klein to pen a “couple goals”-worthy portrait of a no-frills night out with the one you adore.

Just Jayne unites three passionate singer-songwriters – Taylor Edwards, Jillian Steele, and Rachel Wiggins, who first connected as songwriting majors at Belmont University. Their undeniable chemistry sparked in a 2023 co-writing session, leading to a signature blend of breathtaking harmonies, feel-good hooks, and deeply relatable storytelling. Before releasing any music, Just Jayne saw explosive TikTok growth, drawing fans among the likes of Kelsea Ballerini and Bailey Zimmerman.

They landed a coveted support slot on Maddie & Tae’s Spring 2024 tour and delivered a buzzed-about set at CMA Fest. Managed by The Core Entertainment, they kicked off 2025 with their highly anticipated first single, “This Morning,” a dazzling introduction to their timeless yet fresh country sound. The group also continued as support on Maddie & Tae’s Love & Light Tour and hit major cities nationwide, including New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Most recently, the trio joined Billy Currington and Tyler Hubbard for select summer tour dates.
