The fight for Earthrealm continues in Mortal Kombat II, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 reboot. Directed by Simon McQuoid and written by Jeremy Slater, the film will hit theaters and IMAX on October 24, 2025.

Produced by New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster (James Wan), Broken Road Productions, and Fireside Films, the film is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Synopsis

Mortal Kombat II picks up where the 2021 film left off, diving into the official tournament that pits Earthrealm’s fighters against Outworld’s warriors. With returning champions and new threats, the fate of humanity hangs in the balance.

Production

Filming took place in Queensland, Australia and wrapped in early 2024 following delays from the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.
