Let’s Have Fun In The Garden With FISKARS

Spring, summer, fall, and even winter, I find relaxation in my garden. This is the place where I can forget everything and simply concentrate on the beauty of nature. My grandfather used to take great pride in growing all sorts of fruits and vegetables in his garden. You could find him there every late afternoon after returning from work. Often, my mother would join him, learning about the joy of growing.

He communicated his passion to my mother, who could cultivate the most amazing flowers, herbs, and fruit trees. She would spend hours tending to her garden. I was a teenager then; I must admit that I thought it was a lot of wasted time when you could simply go to the grocery store and buy what you needed there!

Years later, I found myself doing the same thing—planting, pruning, cutting, etc. I had turned into my mother, and I’m proud of it. I love gardening; it brings me an inner peace that I truly cherish.

A beautiful garden requires knowledge about planning, healthy soil, adequate sunlight and water, and proper plant selection. It also benefits from careful maintenance like weeding and pest control, and an appreciation for the natural cycles of growth and rest. But besides attention and care, it also requires having the proper tools. Thankfully, there are many companies to choose from; however, for me, my preferred tools come from a company called Fiskars, which was founded in 1649 and is one of the oldest Western companies and a leading global lifestyle brand, with gardening, cooking, and craft products sold in more than 60 countries. Impressive, no? After using their tools, I know you will agree.

Here are my three recommendations for starters:

1. Non-stick Micro-Tip® Pruning Snips

Perfect for healthy growth in plants and flowers, the precision blades on Fiskars® Non-stick Micro-Tip® Pruning Snips are ideal for shaping, repetitive trimming, and intricate snips. Blades are enhanced with a special non-stick coating to help reduce jamming and resin build-up when cutting through sticky plants. These snips feature an Easy Action™ spring that gently opens the blades after every cut to help reduce hand fatigue caused by repetitive cuts—especially helpful for gardeners with arthritis or limited hand strength.

2. Multipurpose Garden Shears

You can cut open a wide range of heavy-duty garden materials, including fertilizer bags, landscape fabric, screens, and more, with the multi-use Fiskars® Multipurpose Garden Shears. From cutting bed lining to adding mulch, prepping and maintaining a strong foundation is key to a healthy garden and can involve a variety of arduous tasks—all of which rely on retaining blade sharpness. This versatile tool features ergonomically sculpted handles and fully hardened, precision-ground steel blades that cut all the way to the tip and stay sharp through heavy use. Other features include a power notch to cut light rope, wire and twine cutters, a pointed awl tip for piercing small holes in cardboard and leather, and a bottle opener. The shears can also be taken apart, leaving you with a titanium-enhanced knife for cutting large objects. A sheath for safe transport and storage comes with a built-in tape cutter and ceramic scissors sharpener. A must-have!
