A star-studded cast has signed on for Wind of Change, the new rock biopic that just kicked off production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London.
Dominic West (The Crown), Alexander Dreymon (The Last Kingdom), Ludwig Trepte (Generation War), Ed Speleers (You), David Kross (The Reader), and Luke Brandon Field (Interview with the Vampire) lead the film, which tells the story of legendary rockers The Scorpions — the German band that sold over 110 million albums and gave the world hits like “Rock You Like a Hurricane” and the Cold War anthem “Wind of Change.”
Directed by Alex Ranarivelo and produced by ESX Entertainment for FOX Entertainment Studios, the film follows the band’s rise to fame and their mission to unite East and West through the power of music. Dreymon plays guitarist Rudolf Schenker, Trepte is frontman Klaus Meine, and Speleers steps in as Matthias Jabs. Field rocks out as drummer Herman Rarebell, while West takes on real-life manager Doc McGhee and Kross plays Andrej, a friend trapped behind the Berlin Wall.
“It’s surreal bringing this story to life,” says producer Ali Afshar. “The Scorpions’ message of peace and rock ‘n’ roll has never felt more relevant.”
With timeless hits, global impact, and a billion streams later, The Scorpions are finally getting their cinematic moment — and it’s set to blow the roof off.
