Legendary Photographer Douglas Kirkland’s Famous Work Exhibit In Beverly Hills

Only a handful of names come to mind when you say "legendary photographer." From Norman Seeff to Timothy White and of course, Annie Leibovitz. At the top of that list is photographer, Douglas Kirkland. His photographs give you a glimpse into some of the most timeless moments in Tinseltown with Hollywood's classic stars.

His latest exhibition, DOUGLAS KIRKLAND: BEYOND THE LENS is now open at the Mouche Gallery in the heart of Beverly Hills. At the grand opening, stars such as Sharon Stone and Charlotte Le Bon came out in support.

On view until Wednesday, May 10, 2017, the exhibit features a compilation of the most prominent images captured throughout Kirkland’s 50-year history as one of the most sought-after photographers in the world. These include shots from his collection of books including, “Light Years”, “Icons”, “Legends”, “Body Stories”, “An Evening with Marilyn”, the best-selling “James Cameron’s Titanic”, “Freeze Frame” and “Coco Chanel, Three Weeks” and Kirkland’s 2013 monograph, “"A Life in Pictures.”

Also represented are images shot on the most famous television and movie sets of our time, including “The Sound of Music,” “The Judy Garland Show,” “Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid,” to name a few. Kirkland has worked with nearly every iconic star one can imagine from John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Dean Martin and Audrey Hepburn to Jack Nicholson, Nicole Kidman, Coco Chanel, Michael Caine, Elizabeth Taylor, Twiggy, and Cher, among many more. The list is nearly endless.

On exhibition at Mouche Gallery this Spring will also be work from Kirkland’s latest book, “Freeze Frame: Second Cut,” published April 2017 by Glitterati Incorporated and co-authored alongside wife Francoise Kirkland and Director/Screenplay Writer/Novelist Cristina Comencini .

The project is an expanded edition of Kirkland’s 2007 best-selling collection and fan-favorite “Freeze Frame.” The book features an additional 190 new photographs of the world’s most iconic movie stars shot on-set throughout a period of more than 60 years with photographs of Hollywood’s brightest stars, from Angelina Jolie and Brigitte Bardot to Baz Luhrmann and Antonio Banderas.
