Publisher’s Thoughts: Rooting For Johnny Depp, No Security For Olivia Wilde

Weekly Thoughts by LATF USA’s Publisher, Michele Elyzabeth

I usually do not write this kind of story but the time has come for me to put my two-bits in and use my freedom of speech. I am so fed-up with everything happening in the world these days. From people trying to find loop holes and excuses for not returning to work, to transients who took our streets over and turned them into trash cans, to the hatred roaming in society. There is no more respect for anything and no decency.

We just saw what happened to Olivia Wilde a few days ago. She was served with custody papers on stage while speaking at CinemaCon by a process server who conned his way into The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, without any regard for another human being. What happened to security? How was he able to buy a ticket to be so close to the stage? Or did he get help from someone in the industry?  How can anyone manage to do what he did without being stopped? Thankfully, it was only papers. Truly very scary. I cannot believe that  The Colosseum at Caesars Palace does not have a better security.

Now for the Pièce de résistance… What is going on in courtrooms around the country? Is there no limit to what attorneys will say and do to try to win their case? The Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard case is the perfect example. It is clear that Amber Heard has major issues. She is spoiled and has childlike tantrums. I remember when the actress complained of abuse from Depp years ago, which she backed up with photos of herself. Yet, Johnny Depp never complained about the abuse that he was suffering from. Who really wants to air their dirty laundry in public?  Although this defamation trial is sadly entertaining, I feel for Johnny Depp. He is loved by many, and she is not.  I honestly believe that Johnny will be back on top. After all, women are not the only ones who get abused in relationships. Men are abused too. It does not matter how low her attorney will try to go… The truth will prevail. At the end of the day, I understand why he’s drawing in his coloring book.

Until next week…
