2016 NFL Season Kicks Off Thursday With The Super Bowl Rematch Featuring The Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers

The race to Super Bowl LI (51) begins this Thursday September 8, 2016 with a matchup of Super Bowl 50’s champions Denver Broncos vs. the losing Carolina Panthers. Without the leadership of the now retired Peyton Manning, head coach Gary Kubiak has turned the starting quarterback job over to second-year quarterback Trevor Siemian, after a competition between Siemian, veteran Mark Sanchez and rookie Paxton Lynch. He will be the first quarterback in NFL history to start the season opener for the defending Super Bowl champion without having thrown an NFL pass. With their Super Bowl-winning defense still intact, the Broncos begin their quest to defend their title with a lot of unanswered questions about the offense. Some of these questions will be answered starting tomorrow night on Thursday Night Football on NBC beginning at 8:30 ET. The rest of the kick-off week schedule looks like this:
