The East Coast was already expecting a major storm this upcoming weekend, but what they weren't expecting was a hurricane.
According to reports, Tropical Storm Joaquin has strengthened to a Category 1 hurricane as of Wednesday morning. Hurricane season is in full force. In the Atlantic,it begins June 1st and ends November 30th. This is the third Atlantic hurricane this season.

It's a difficult storm prediction as the forecast depends on the behavior of several different atmospheric features over North America and the North Atlantic Ocean.
