And Then There Were 3: Marco Rubio Joins The Republican Race For Presidency

Marco Rubio presidential bidSenator Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and now Florida’s Senator Marco Rubio joins the presidential race on the Republican side.

On Monday, Rubio announced to his top donors that he will be running for president in 2016. The 43 year-old is now the youngest candidate. He was elected to the United States Senate in 2010. It has been said that Jeb Bush was Rubio’s political mentor for many years.

The Associated Press reported, that Rubio said he is “uniquely qualified” to be president. Mentioning Hillary Clinton, Rubio commented that she was “a leader from yesterday.”

In his bio, Rubio states: “The reason I’m so passionate about restoring the American Dream is because I’ve lived it myself. My parents came to America from Cuba in 1956 and earned their way to the middle class working humble jobs – my father as a bartender in hotels and my mom as a maid, cashier and retail clerk. By their loving and powerful example, I learned the importance of work and family, and developed the belief that all things are possible in America.”

“I have spent most of my life in West Miami, and live there today with my wife Jeanette and our four children.”
