Cannonball wines was founded in 2006 by Yoav Gilat, along with a dynamic team of wine industry veterans who were determined to rock the wine world. The vision was to make the best California Cabernet under $20.
By 2010, Cannonball Cabernet had established a solid reputation. They all wanted more, so the line was extended. The first varietal was Chardonnay, followed by Merlot, and then Sauvignon Blanc.
As their firstborn, Cannonball Cabernet remains their flagship wine.
The beloved flavors of Cannonball are sourced from select regions throughout California. The diverse California microclimates, topography and soils provide the perfect palette to create wines that are complex and highly consistent.
Cannonball Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Although, I am not a big meat eater there is nothing better than a good glass of red wine with a steak. Cannonball Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 has the perfect combination of California grown grapes with the traditional well rounded Bordeaux taste.
Even though sugar accumulation advanced easily, they allowed the fruit to hang longer than normal to achieve the desired flavor content. Its color is a very dark red almost black, On the nose, it reminds you of ripe plum, boysenberry. It has fruity accents of red currant fruit with sweet oak, fresh cherry and berry flavors. This full body has a good texture which lingers on the palate.
