Mary J. Blige

Makeup By: D'Andre Michael for Marc Jacobs Beauty

"I wanted to go with an old Hollywood look because Mary has such beautiful features like starlets from that time – high cheekbones, full lips, a bright smile and deep set eyes. The look is all about glowing skin and striking eyes – a look that is glamorous yet simple and elegant." D'Andre Michael said.

Makeup Tips/Techniques: Michael prepped the skin with the (Under)cover Perfecting Coconut Face Primer to make sure skin was well-hydrated and smooth for makeup application.

To even out her complexion, Michael used the new Shameless Youthful-Look 24H Foundation SPF 25 with The Seamless – Liquid Foundation Brush No. 4 for flawless, full coverage. To add a natural flush to her face, Michael then applied the Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Flesh & Fantasy – an ivory shimmer and goddess bronze duo – to the apples of her cheeks. To create that Hollywood glow, Michael used the Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighteron the tops of the cheekbones.

For the eyes, Michael used the Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Glambition (which features a range of colors from bare to bronze) to create a sultry, yet natural eye. Using the shade "Over the Top" – a deep reddish brown shade – on the entire lid, Michael then smudged the shade "Glamour" – a matte black – along the lash line. Then, using the Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Scandalust, Michael dusted the shade "At The Office" – a warm matte beige – along the brow bone and the shade "Little Miss" – a matte plum shade – in the crease of the upper eyelid for dimension. He then lined the eye with the Magic Marc'er Precision Pen Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner to create a winged look on the upper eyelid, and finished it off with coats of Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara on the upper and lower lashes.

Lastly, for the lips, Michael swiped the Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lip Gloss in 310 Taboo for a sheer mauve shimmer finish.
